Fireflies Pricing (2026): Pro Wins Until Credits Run Out

Fireflies Pro is the default paid plan at $10 per seat per month on annual billing, but that is not the whole bill. Its 20 included AI credits are a one-time, team-shared pool, so the paid add-on can arrive long before storage or transcription runs out.

Fireflies pricing at a glance

Fireflies Pro is the right paid plan for most individuals and small teams. Free works for light live-meeting notes, Business buys unlimited storage and team intelligence, and Enterprise buys security controls. None of the paid tiers gives you a recurring allowance of advanced AI credits with every seat.

Prices and limits were verified against Fireflies' live pricing page and current billing guides on 16 August 2026. Prices are in US dollars before tax.

Every plan includes unlimited transcription and unlimited standard AI summaries. Fireflies says standard transcription, note-taking, recap emails, and standard summaries do not consume AI credits. Credits pay for advanced actions such as AI Skills, custom summary sections, Voice Agents, Sales Assist, Slack Assistant, CRM autofill, and AskFred during live meetings.

That separation sets the buying decision. The base subscription pays for capturing and organizing meetings. A second meter pays for advanced work done with those meetings.

The Free plan is enough only if you can delete the archive

Fireflies Free is genuinely useful for live transcription, but it is not a durable meeting system. You get unlimited core transcription and standard summaries, a two-hour limit per meeting, API access, and a one-time pool of 20 advanced AI credits shared by the team. The hard wall is 400 minutes of storage for the team.

At five one-hour meetings per week, 400 minutes fills in 1.33 weeks. To keep transcribing new meetings, you must delete older meetings to make room. Free also withholds video recording, transcript and recording downloads, AI Skills, and the wider automation layer that turns a summary into follow-up work.

The distinction between transcription and storage matters. Unlimited transcription describes how much new audio Fireflies can process from supported live capture. Storage describes how much meeting history can remain available. A solo consultant who only needs yesterday's recap can delete aggressively. A customer-success lead who needs to retrieve a promise from six weeks ago cannot.

Older Fireflies Free-plan copy still states 800 minutes of storage and describes 20 AI credits as monthly. The current pricing page and newer limits guide say 400 minutes, while the newer dedicated credit and billing guides call the 20 credits one-time and team-shared. Budget to the stricter current sources.

Pro is the default paid plan

Pro is the best-value Fireflies tier when one person or a small team needs exports and automation without team-wide analytics. It costs $10 per seat per month billed annually or $18 billed monthly. The annual term is $120 per seat; twelve monthly payments total $216.

Pro expands storage to 8,000 minutes per seat and adds video recording, transcript and recording downloads, Personal Assistant, Email Assistant, AI Skills, Voice Agents, action items, task management, and unlimited integrations. Meetings still have a two-hour recording cap. The included advanced-AI pool remains only 20 one-time credits shared by the team.

For a consultant handling 40 one-hour meetings per month, the annual base price is $0.25 per recorded, transcribed, and standard-summarized meeting. That is excellent core economics. The storage math is less generous: 40 hours per month fills 8,000 minutes in 3.33 months if nothing is deleted.

Pro therefore works best when the archive can be managed. Export completed work, set a retention habit, and reserve advanced credit-consuming actions for meetings that create revenue or risk. Paying for Pro and then running custom AI on every internal stand-up is how a $10 plan becomes a variable bill.

Skip Pro if Free already covers your light live-note workflow. Also skip it if a manager needs consolidated analytics across a sales, recruiting, or customer-success team. Pro gives each user more working room; it does not buy the team-level visibility that makes Business worthwhile.

Business pays for team visibility, not better notes

Business is worth its $9 annual-price premium over Pro only when unlimited storage or team intelligence changes an operating decision. It costs $19 per seat per month billed annually or $29 monthly. Core transcription and standard summaries are not better simply because the plan costs more.

The upgrade removes the storage ceiling and adds multi-language mode, conversation intelligence, team analytics for admins, public meeting access, and user groups. The meeting cap rises from two to three hours. The initial advanced-AI pool rises from 20 to 30 one-time team credits, which is too small a difference to justify the tier by itself.

For ten seats, Pro costs $100 per month on annual billing and Business costs $190. The upgrade is $90 per month or $1,080 per year. Using a transparent $60 loaded-hour assumption, Business pays back if unlimited storage, consolidated analytics, and admin controls save 90 team-minutes per month. That is nine minutes per seat.

This is the clean decision rule: if a manager reviews team patterns every week, or deleting call history creates compliance and account risk, Business is cheap. If ten people only need their own recordings and summaries, the $1,080 annual premium buys a dashboard no one needs.

At 40 meetings per seat per month, Business's annual base price is about $0.48 per core meeting outcome. Pro is cheaper at $0.25, but its archive fills. The upgrade is a retention and management purchase, not an accuracy purchase.

Enterprise is a policy purchase

Enterprise is for organizations with a written control requirement, not teams that merely want more meetings. It costs $39 per seat per month billed annually, with no public monthly option, or $468 per seat for the annual term.

The plan raises the meeting limit to four hours and adds a rules engine, SSO, SCIM, audit logs, HIPAA compliance, private storage, custom data retention, transcript-and-summary-only mode, a super-admin role, and a dedicated account manager. Storage stays unlimited. The starting advanced-AI balance is 50 one-time team credits.

The jump from Business is $20 per seat per month on annual billing. That premium is defensible when procurement requires centralized identity, a Business Associate Agreement workflow, private storage, audit evidence, or enforced retention. It is indefensible when the requirement is simply "we record a lot of meetings," because Business already includes unlimited storage.

Skip Enterprise unless a security, legal, IT, or procurement owner can name the control that blocks Business. A feature wish is not an enterprise requirement.

AI credits are the second bill

Advanced AI credits, not transcription minutes, are the most likely source of an unexpected Fireflies charge. The base plan covers transcription, standard note-taking, recap emails, and standard summaries. Credits fund AI Skills, custom summary sections, Voice Agents, Sales Assist, Slack Assistant, CRM autofill, Magic Soundbites, and live AskFred queries.

Fireflies uses dynamic pricing per query. A simple action may consume fewer credits than a complex request that analyzes several meetings or sources. The vendor does not publish one fixed cost for an AskFred answer, a CRM autofill, or a custom summary. An exact cost per advanced-AI outcome would therefore be invented. The defensible calculation is the monthly capacity tier you are pushed into.

The initial balances are small and one-time: Free 20, Pro 20, Business 30, and Enterprise 50. Fireflies' dedicated credit guide says the balance is shared across the team and does not increase when teammates are added. Upgrading replaces the old plan balance rather than stacking on top of it. Included plan credits do not expire.

A ten-seat Business workspace therefore pays $190 per month on annual billing and starts with 30 shared advanced-AI credits, not 300. That is three credits per seat if divided evenly, once. The standard summaries keep working after those credits are gone, but advanced actions need a purchased subscription.

The monthly add-ons are 50 credits for $5, 200 for $20, 1,000 for $90, 2,500 for $200, 5,000 for $375, 7,500 for $450, and 10,000 for $600. At full use, the unit price moves from $0.10 per credit at the two smallest tiers to $0.09, $0.08, $0.075, and finally $0.06 at the two largest tiers.

The cost curve has cliffs. Crossing from 200 credits to the 1,000-credit tier raises the monthly add-on from $20 to $90. The first requirement beyond 200 credits can therefore trigger $70 of extra committed spend. Purchased credits auto-renew unless paused, and unused purchased credits do not carry into the next cycle.

The seven-day AI-credit trial deserves the same attention. Fireflies' billing terms say it converts to a paid credit subscription starting at $5 per month unless canceled. Auto-Upgrade can be disabled. Without it, credit-consuming features pause when a paid credit subscriber runs out, which is a safer default while a team measures demand.

API and upload usage has an overage

Fireflies includes API access, but external audio processing is not unmetered. Dashboard uploads, API or Zapier uploads, imports from Dropbox, Box, and OneDrive, dialer calls, and past-meeting transcription each count against a monthly allowance by source.

An individual receives 3,000 minutes per source per month. A team receives 3,000 minutes multiplied by users for each source, capped at 150,000 minutes per source. Usage above the allowance costs $0.01 per minute under the current limits guide.

The app-versus-API split matters. Live meetings joined by the Fireflies bot, Google Meet recordings made through the Chrome Extension, and mobile-app recordings do not count toward this external-processing allowance. An operator who can capture live should not pay an upload overage for the same meeting later.

Suppose a research team uploads 70 hours of calls through one source in a month. That is 4,200 minutes, or 1,200 above the individual allowance. The overage is $12. The dollar amount is modest, but a pipeline processing hundreds of archived hours should model it as usage, not assume the API is included without a meter.

The current June 2026 limits guide is the governing source for this budget. An older Fireflies guide said no overage applied, while the newer guide and upload documentation state $0.01 per extra minute. Use the newer number.

Annual billing wins after month seven or eight

Choose annual Pro only when you expect at least seven months of use, and annual Business only when you expect at least eight. The advertised savings are large, but the annual refund window is narrow.

Pro costs $120 for an annual term. Monthly Pro reaches $126 after seven payments, so the annual plan starts winning in month seven. Over a full year, annual Pro saves $96 per seat, or 44.4%, versus $216 paid monthly.

Business costs $228 for an annual term. Eight monthly payments total $232, so annual Business starts winning in month eight. Over a full year, it saves $120 per seat, or 34.5%, versus $348 paid monthly.

The practical move is to pay monthly while proving the workflow, then switch before the break-even month. Do not sign a year because the pricing toggle says "save." Sign when the people, retention policy, and advanced-AI demand are stable enough to forecast.

Fireflies allows a full refund on a monthly plan when use is seven days or less and three meetings or fewer. Longer or heavier monthly use may receive a prorated refund. An annual plan can receive a full refund only when use is seven days or less and 20 meetings or fewer. Annual plans have no prorated refund, and AI-credit purchases are non-refundable. Approved refunds take five to ten business days.

Seats create another lock. Every admin or member is billable. Removing a teammate lowers the count going forward but does not refund the current cycle. A downgrade takes effect next cycle, while an upgrade takes effect immediately with a prorated charge.

Students, NGOs, and nonprofit organizations can request 10% off Pro, Business, or Enterprise on monthly or yearly billing. Fireflies requires an eligible school or NGO email domain and a support request. This is a manual discount, not a checkout coupon.

Fireflies versus Otter, Fathom, and tl;dv on normalized cost

Fireflies has the lowest paid core-meeting cost at high volume, Fathom has the strongest individual Free economics, and tl;dv has the clearest flat paid-AI structure. Otter can be cheaper at low volume, but its Pro minute cap changes the answer once meetings scale.

Normalize the four tools at 40 one-hour meetings per month on annual billing. Fireflies Pro costs $0.25 per meeting. Otter Pro covers only 1,200 minutes, or 20 such meetings, so the comparable high-volume tier is Otter Business at $0.50 per meeting. Fathom Premium costs $0.40, and tl;dv Pro costs $0.45.

That calculation compares the base subscription, not identical feature bundles. Fireflies' number excludes purchased advanced-AI credits. It is still useful because it shows what each tool charges before optional intelligence and workflow differences enter the decision.

Otter.ai is cheaper only while its Pro minute cap fits

Otter.ai starts below Fireflies Pro on annual billing, but a high-volume user lands on Business. Basic is free with 300 transcription minutes per month and three lifetime file imports. Pro costs $8.33 per user per month annually or $16.99 monthly, includes 1,200 in-app recording minutes, allows ten monthly imports, and caps a meeting at 90 minutes.

Otter Business costs $19.99 per user per month annually or $30 monthly. It includes unlimited meetings and in-app recordings and raises the meeting cap to four hours. At 40 one-hour meetings, that is the relevant Otter comparison, not the cheaper Pro headline.

Pick Otter Pro when 1,200 minutes and 90-minute meetings are enough. Skip it when one user's recurring meeting load exceeds 20 one-hour calls, because the Business upgrade removes Fireflies Pro's apparent competitor.

Fathom is the free-plan winner for an individual

Fathom gives an individual unlimited recordings, transcriptions, storage, and instant summaries at $0. That is a cleaner free proposition than Fireflies' 400-minute team archive, provided Fathom's capture model fits the meetings.

Fathom Premium costs $16 per user per month annually or $20 monthly. Team costs $15 annually or $19 monthly with a two-user minimum. Business costs $25 annually or $34 monthly, also with a two-user minimum.

Pick Fathom Free when one person's main outcome is a stored recording, transcript, and summary. Fireflies Pro earns its place when its integrations and advanced meeting automation are worth a metered credit layer. Paying Fireflies only for core solo notes is hard to defend against Fathom's Free plan.

tl;dv is the flat-AI alternative

tl;dv costs more than Fireflies Pro, but its paid plans remove the separate advanced-AI credit bill. Free includes unlimited recordings, transcription, and storage, while limiting AI notes to ten meetings and keeping data for up to three months.

tl;dv Pro costs $18 per seat per month billed annually and includes unlimited AI notes, unlimited single-meeting Ask AI, more than 5,000 integrations, API access, webhooks, MCP, uploads, and storage. Business costs $29 per seat per month annually and explicitly carries no usage-based AI fees, adding unlimited multi-meeting insights, scheduled reports, playbooks, and team automation.

Pick tl;dv when a flat advanced-AI budget matters more than the lowest base seat price. Fireflies Pro starts $8 lower per seat annually, but a team that repeatedly crosses into Fireflies credit add-ons can erase that gap.

For ten Business-style seats, Fireflies costs $190 per month, Otter $199.90, Fathom $250, and tl;dv $290 on annual billing. Add Fireflies' 1,000-credit subscription at $90 and its total becomes $280, almost the same as tl;dv Business. This is why the advanced-AI workload, not the plan card, decides the winner.
