This pack teaches you to make projected light carry the layout, from one 38 percent spotlight to two overlapping color zones and a doorway that supplies its own visual logic. The prompts give you reusable controls for mask shape, source angle, edge softness, coverage, surface continuity, and shadow direction across still life, portrait, product, furniture, and narrative work.

What you'll learn

• Focal island — A single bright field does three jobs at once: it fixes the focal point, sets the subject scale, and gives the empty area a clear value hierarchy.
• Diagonal route — The beam is not decoration. Its angle agrees with the product pose, so light direction and object direction become one reading path.
• Place the rhythm — A repeated pattern becomes useful when you place one interval deliberately. Here the eye band anchors the full rhythm before it spreads across the set.
• Borrow a place — An irregular mask can imply a whole location without adding scenery. Pattern scale and coverage decide whether the cue reads as leaves, noise, or clutter.
• Describe the form — A regular projection acts like a contour map. The pattern only works when it bends with the form and continues onto the background as a reference plane.
• Focus by depth — Edge softness is a depth cue. Holding the pattern constant while changing its focus makes the spacing between planes legible without labels.
• Stack two lights — Two masks create three usable values: light A, light B, and the overlap. The overlap needs its own job or the frame turns into colored noise.
• Motivate the shape — The final move gives the mask a believable source inside the scene. Once the aperture has a reason to exist, the light can carry story as well as layout.
