About this prompt pack

This pack teaches you to stage off-screen action through the physical evidence it leaves behind. Across eight square studies, you will direct fresh residue, elapsed time, contact wear, interrupted sequences, material memory, repair history, two working styles, and one controlled contradiction, then carry those moves into product, editorial, and campaign imagery.

What you'll learn

  • Cause and effect — Start with one recent action and let four physical clues share the same direction. The empty wet ring matters because it names the missing object without putting it back in frame.
  • The evaporation clock — One cause appears in three material states, so time becomes visible without a clock or label. The raking light is there to separate beads, damp edges, and dry residue.
  • Contact map — Concentrated wear turns age into behavior. The untouched button is as useful as the polished rail because contrast shows which controls mattered.
  • Interrupted sequence — The state of the object and the placement of the tools preserve a whole verb sequence. Closed, folded, cut, and loose each occupy a different point in time.
  • Material memory — Soft surfaces can hold a pose after the body leaves. A measured depth, radiating wrinkles, and directional pile make the effect physical instead of symbolic.
  • Repair chronology — Repair method and material condition divide one object into three eras. Rounded wood, oxidized steel, and fresh resin carry the dates without printing them.
  • Two working grammars — Two actors separate through behavior, not a visual divider. Repetition and alignment describe one maker; pressure, smears, and irregularity describe the other.
  • The contradiction — The base story reads first, then one moisture gradient refuses it. Keeping every other clue aligned lets a single contradiction create ambiguity without making noise.
